Haltia is your gateway to Finnish nature

The Finnish Nature Centre Haltia is located in Espoo, right next to Nuuksio National Park. Just a 30-minute drive from Helsinki, you’ll find stunning exhibitions, access to Nuuksio’s extensive trail network stretching for tens of kilometres, an equipment rental service, a shop for outdoor gear and gifts, Restaurant Haltia, excellent meeting and sauna facilities – including options in the middle of nature – as well as an accessible scenic terrace, campfire sites, and seasonal events and courses.

What’s new

Haltia is being renewed – a new main exhibition and restaurant will open on 28 January 2027

The current Finnish Nature main exhibition, which is thirteen years old, and Restaurant Haltia will close for renovation on Monday, 19 October. Despite the reduced range of services, we will continue to welcome visitors and hikers as usual from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am-5 pm. Haltia’s other exhibitions, such as the interactive Game Over? exhibition and the Light Gallery, will remain open. As usual, the Nature Photographs of the Year 2026 exhibition will also arrive at Haltia at the end of October. Café and food services will also be available in the Haltia Gate area during the renovation.

The renewed Haltia will reopen on 28 January 2027.

At the Finnish Nature Centre Haltia, a wide range of events are organized throughout the year, with changing themes.
Annual highlights include the LuxNuuksio light event, exhibition openings, the Finnish Nature Day programme, and seasonal programmes during holiday periods.
