New special exhibition: GAME OVER?

An interactive exhibition for nature’s survival
Haltia’s special exhibition | May 9, 2026 – April 4, 2027

Biodiversity loss is underway – is it already game over?

The Finnish Nature Centre Haltia’s new special exhibition, Game Over?, explores biodiversity loss and climate change through interactive and gamified experiences. In Finland, one in nine species is endangered, and the situation is critical—yet we believe the tide can still be turned. In this exhibition, you are more than a spectator; you are an active player whose everyday choices matter.

You will have the opportunity to reflect on the impact of your choices and discover solutions that suit you personally through a gamified experience based on scientific research. We promise that you will leave Haltia with at least one concrete action you can take to strengthen biodiversity starting today.

The game is underway – join us and help turn the tide.

The exhibition has been produced as part of the Priodiversity LIFE project.

Programme for the Day

  • 10:00–16:00: Exhibition open. Explore the new GAME OVER? special exhibition free of charge.
  • 13:00–14:00: Panel discussion – Everyday actions for nature. 80% of Finns feel that halting biodiversity loss is a matter of urgency — a view supported by research. One in nine species and nearly half of all habitat types in Finland are threatened. Alongside government and businesses, citizens are a vital force for change in preserving Finland’s biodiversity. The discussion will be held in Finnish. Panellists:
    • Moderator Kerttu Kotakorpi
    • Viliina Evokari, Project Manager, Priodiversity Life project, Metsähallitus
    • Timo Huhtamäki, EU Climate Ambassador, CEO, Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation
    • Minna Pekkonen, Senior Researcher and Development Manager, Finnish Environment Institute
  • Guided tours. Tours will be offered throughout the day, both inside the exhibition and in the surrounding nature. Exact times and further details will be updated on this page soon!
  • Information stands. Partners of the Priodiversity LIFE project will be on hand to share information about their work and Finland’s biodiversity at Haltia.

The project has received co-funding from the European Union’s LIFE Programme. The content of this material reflects the views of the authors only, and neither the European Union nor CINEA can be held responsible for any use that may be made of the information contained therein.
