The bounties of nature await their gatherers
Let’s embark on a harvest expedition!
Come and enjoy the gifts of nature and learn more about their utilization at Finland’s Nature and Outdoor Center, Haltia, on Outdoor Saturday, August 5th, from 10 am to 9 pm.
Harvesting is not only about gathering the yields of cultivated crops but also a tradition that inspires people to collect nourishment from the wild. Finns take delight in exercising their everyone’s rights by picking berries, foraging for mushrooms, and fishing in the local wilderness while exploring and trekking. Harvest time is also an excellent opportunity for preparing homemade delicacies such as berry jams, juices, preserved vegetables, and pastries.
On Outdoor Saturday in August you can gather a harvest on a guided excursion in Nuuksio and indulge in an outdoor dinner made from seasonal delights at Restaurant Haltia. What does modern hunting and gathering look like, and is fishing allowed in the national park?
The program for the day will be complemented and schedules will be finalized in July.
Haltia’s services will be open on Outdoor Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm!
