You can enjoy the beautiful building, inspiring exhibitions and experiences in the surrounding nature on foot and by wheelchair. Haltia\u2019s exhibitions are delightful even for the hard of hearing or the visually impaired. Easy access has been one of the fundamental starting points of the Haltia design and building.<\/p>\n<h2>Parking for disabled persons by the main entrance<\/h2>\n<p>Next to Haltia&#8217;s main entrance, parallel to the stone fence, there are disabled parking spaces. Pick-up and drop-off traffic is allowed in front of the main entrance. Disabled persons can also park by the Solvalla Arena sports hall and head out on the nature trail that is accessible by wheelchair with an assistant.<\/p>\n<h2>Haltia by wheelchair<\/h2>\n<p>Haltia was designed to enable wheelchair users to get almost all parts of the building (except Pohjannaula tower). A wheelchair fits comfortably in the three-story building\u2019s spacious lifts. It is also easy for persons in wheelchairs or of short stature to visit Haltia\u2019s customer service desk. The first and last seating rows in the auditorium are made up of movable chairs, allowing a wheelchair to be fitted easily into these rows. There are restrooms for disabled persons in all parts of the building, and also in connection with the classrooms.<\/p>\n<h2>Hiking by wheelchair<\/h2>\n<p>You can also get into the surrounding nature with a wheelchair or baby carriage. The starting point of the scenic Maahisenkierros trail is in the parking area of the Solvalla Sports Institute sports hall, with parking spaces for the disabled. The trail is roughly 1.8 km long. Due to the varying terrain in the area, the trail is classified as a demanding wheelchair trail, requiring wheelchair users to be accompanied by an assistant. There are handrails along the steep stretches, and the trail is wide enough for wheelchairs and pushchairs or prams throughout.
